Antivirus Software

The girls and I are on the computer and online daily. They for homework and games and me for mostly blogging and email. Inevitably, we've caught quite a few viruses online. These viruses aren't the kind to be fixed with chicken soup or ginger tea, these viruses are way more malicious than that.

Free Antivirus Protection can be found online so there is no excuse why you shouldn't have one installed on your computer. But just like getting a vaccination to keep the flu away, there are also certain practices that you can follow to keep viruses away from your computer.

The main thing is to have antivirus protection software installed and running. That's no excuse to be careless, however. You still have to be vigilant about keeping viruses out. Take precautions such as not downloading anything from sites you don't trust or opening email attachments from people you don't know.

Just like keeping your house clean, you must do the same with your computer. Schedule a daily scan of your hard drive especially if you're online as much as we are. This way, you just keep on top of any infections.

Most importantly, make sure to update your antivirus software regularly. You can't just install and forget it. New viruses are cropping up every day and you want to make sure your computer is protected. I suggest scheduling automatic updates.
