Coq au vin is a classic French dish that means "cock of the wine" or an old chicken that has been stewed in wine. Since most of the chickens we get now are the young and tender kind, making coq au vin doesn't take as long as it used to.
The girls got a kick of seeing the chicken floating in wine while their dad would have rather had the wine in a glass than on the chicken. lol!
This dish turned out to be delicious and very different from our usual chicken recipes so it was a real treat. We'll definitely be cooking this again, but I think next time I'll do a few modifications.
