School Lunches At Home

We recently bought these cute "TV Trays" because Amara wanted to use them at home, and play school, so the other day I made us all lunch on them and they turned out really cute! Here's the pic of the tray, well balanced meal included:

The apple sauce and kiwi served counts as approximately 1.5 servings of fruit, the carrots were about .5-1 serving, the chicken was 1 serving and the water was .5 of the recommended 8 glasses a day. Happy and Healthy eatings!

Brilliant! What a great way to teach healthy portions!

Very cute! I know if I had those trays as a kid I'd want to play 'airline attendant'. Actually I still wanna play airline attendant :P The lunch looks quite healthy, good on you for imparting healthy food choices. You can never start too early :D

And yes I'm still thinking of a delicious LP contribution.

I also remember the time when I was still in the kindergaten and I really like those kind of trays since I fancy segregating food and looking at the different varieties.

Hi everyone! That was Jade's post, she has been the resident nutritionist and cook by day since school let out for summer vacation. Isn't she wonderful?!

My girls actually don't even like to eat school lunches, they bring their own lunch from home. They are fascinated by the trays though :-)

I didn't even think of it as a way to determine portions. That is a great idea, Joe!

Ces, we got these trays at my fave store, Wal-Mart. They come in different colors. I think they may have it in Target too.

Jules, I can see you as a stewardess ;-) lol! I'll look forward to your LP post.

Chas, I still like segregating my food! I hate it when one flavor bleeds into the other :-)

I hate it to since I want to taste the original flavour of each particular food.
